5 Powerful Biblical Truths to Ignite You When You’re Feeling Overwhelmed

It’s important to find motivation in your day to find peace. But sometimes the noise of the modern world can make it difficult to find peace, peace that can truly help you move forward.

Here are five biblical truths to get you motivated that are sure to inspire you when you’re feeling overwhelmed.

1)  God is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him

God is a great source of motivation. Not only is He always available to listen, but as a God of love and mercy we can also know that He desires for us to be happy – and the only true happiness comes from resting in His presence – it’s not found in worldly passions and pleasures.  So when you find yourself overwhelmed, take a moment to call out to Him.  He promises in Psalm 37:4 that He will give us the desires of our heart if we delight ourselves in him.  That means he will grant your desires and make them come true!

2) Acknowledge and thank God for what you already have

It can be difficult to find motivation when you feel like you’ve lost everything. But it’s important in these times of struggling to remember what you still have. Make it a point each day to think about all that you are grateful for. Keeping track on paper is an excellent way to do this, especially if the list helps keep your mind off of whatever is causing you stress or worry.

You can also thank God for who He is regardless of how your life is going at the moment – He will hear and honor your prayers!  Psalm 100:4 says, “Enter his gates with thanksgiving, go into His courts with praise!”  God wants us to come before Him with joy so we stay connected to Him.  The more you thank God for what He has done, the closer you’ll feel to Him!

3) Honor your creator

God is not only all powerful and loving, but He also deserves honor because of who He is.  As Psalm 100:3 says, “Know that the Lord, He is God! It is He who made us, and we are His; we are His people, and the sheep of His pasture.”

Because God created everything around us including our very selves – it’s important to remember just how much our family loves us. Remembering this will give you so much joy! After all, if someone went out of their way to create something as incredible as each one of us, don’t you think they deserve to be honored?  Without God we would have no purpose so being thankful to Him should motivate us to live for him instead of ourselves.

4) Never give up

When times get hard remember this verse – God will never leave His children behind! He will guide them through the difficult times, but you must do your part.  He will provide a way out, but it’s up to us to learn from our mistakes (even if they’re big ones) and continue on our path towards peace.  Perseverance is key when trying to find motivation in every person’s life!

It can be easy to try something once and if it doesn’t work out immediately feel like you cannot continue because your first attempt wasn’t successful.  But the Bible encourages perseverance! 1 Corinthians 10:13 says, “God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, He will also provide a way out so that you can endure it.”

5) God has called you His child

When you know who God is and what He has done for each of us it’s easier to feel motivated because we are so incredibly loved by him!  He chose all of us before the world was even created (Ephesians 1:4).  That means that for eternity he imagined our existence perfectly.  Even before we were born or any decisions on Earth, God planned on us to be in Heaven with Him.  This is huge!  It means that God knows everything about us, and he still doesn’t want to give up on us.

Because of this love (which we weren’t even deserving of), God sent His Son, Jesus Christ to earth to make a way for each one of us by dying on the cross!  He did all of this out of pure love for His children. We are called his children because he loves us so much that he wants us near him after death – an eternal paradise where we will never get bored or lonely ever again!

When you’re feeling overwhelmed remember these biblical truths. Find motivation through your day by making it a point every day to thank God for who He is, to honor Him because of who He is, to keep persevering even through your toughest days, and always never forget that God knows everything about you but still wants to be with you forever.

And lastly, remember that God calls each of us His children because He loves us more than anyone else ever could or would!
